Travel Tip

With bells on!
Place Christmas type bells on your carry on, and when someone tries to move it, you will hear. Always, when standing around or sitting drinking coffee, keep your foot through the strap. If someone drops something, or something happens, look at your backpack. This may be a diversion to steal your backpack.

Being wrinkle-free, we never iron them!!  We just launder and fold them, when they are put on the bed, any wrinkles disappear as if by magic! Other high count sheets we have tried must be ironed as they wrinkle so badly with laundering. These are the only high count cotton linens with that superb quality.
They make great wedding, birthday and anniversary gifts; a gift that "keeps on giving"!    If you use them in your own guest bedroom, you can be sure your guests will have an unforgettable luxurious "Night's Delight", just as you did here at the Stonewall Jackson Inn.  They will "oooh and awww"  about their Night's Delight as they sip their coffee and enjoy your breakfast table.  No one can forget the warm sensuous feeling of slipping into bed between these silky sheets, and waking to their warm softness.  I know you remember this as an important part of your
"Night's Delight ~ Breakfast to Remember"....The Stonewall Jackson Experience.

Now the best part!  We can sell them at low bargain prices

Full/Double sets are $150; Queen sets are $175; King sets $200!
Sorry, they do not make luxury sheets in twin size. While you might be able to buy 600 count sheets for this price, they will not have the wrinkle free quality. They come in the following colors: White, Ivory, Light Sage, Light Blue, and Linen.  We order at the end of every month, and are taking orders at the present time for delivery here in 3-4 weeks.  So email us ASAP to get your order sent in at the end of this month.  You can pick-up your order  on your next visit, or we will ship them to you as you direct.

Did you know?

Saint Patrick was not born in Ireland!

Saint Patrick was born in Britain circa 389 C.E. then under Roman occupation, in a town he called Bannavem Taberniae.  Scholars speculate that it was located in Duncbaron on the Clyde, in Cumberland near Hadrian's Wall, or at the mouth of the Severn River. Pirates captured Patrick at the age of sixteen during a raid and sold him as a slave in Ireland. He escaped after six years of servitude and, determined to convert the Irish to Christianity, studied in the monastery on the French island of Lerins, returning to Ireland in 431 C.E.

Recipe of the Month
Old-Fashioned Scrapple

The name of this Pennsylvania Dutch dish comes from the chopped "scraps" of cooked pork that are mixed with groundecornmeal broth and seasonings. The squares of scrapple are fried and traditionally served hot for breakfast or brunch.
1 pound boneless cooked pork loin, chopped
1 cup cornmeal
1 (14.50-ounce) can chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon dried
thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon freshly
ground pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, or as needed
  1. In a large saucepan combine pork, cornmeal, chicken broth, thyme and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer about 2 minutes or until mixture is very thick, stirring constantly.
  2. Line an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan or a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with waxed paper, letting paper extend 3 to 4-inches above top of pan. Spoon pork mixture into pan. Cover and chill in the refrigerator 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Un-mold; cut scrapple into squares.
  4. Combine flour and pepper; dust squares with flour mixture.
  5. In large skillet brown scrapple on both sides in a small amount of hot oil.

Makes 12 servings
