In honor of Halloween that was just celebrated, Frankenstein
was not a Monster.
In both the 1818 novel (Frankenstein, or the Modern
Prometheus, written by Mary Shelley at age eighteen) and the
1931 movie (Frankenstein starring Boris Karloff),
Frankenstein is the name of Victor Frankenstein, a student
of natural psychology, who creates the monster. In the
novel, Frankenstein names his monster Adam. In
the movie, the monster goes unnamed.
And now you know!
