The easiest way to make a reservation is online using the Check Availability section above. Enter your arrival date and the number of nights you will stay. After you click the Check Availability button you will be taken to our reservation system where you can select from the available rooms.
If you plan to make a reservation at a later time when you will not have internet access or if you have any questions, call us at (540) 433-8233 or toll-free (800) 445-5330 and we will be happy to assist you.
- Check-in is 3:00PM to 9:00PM and check-out time is 11:00AM.
- Exceptions can be arranged by special requests in advance.
- Breakfast is served between 8:00AM and 10:00AM.
- Rates do not include Virginia sales and occupancy taxes (11.5%).
- Rates are based on two people and the extra person charge is $50/night. For rooms with two beds, if no 3rd or 4th person in the room there is a $15 housekeeping surcharge if both beds are used.
- A credit card number is required to reserve your room, but is only used in the case of a cancellation or no show. We require payment for packages in advance, but payment is otherwise due at check-in.
- Payment types accepted include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checks, cash, BedandBreakfast.com gift cards, BnBFinder.com gift certificates, and Stonewall Jackson Inn gift certificates. If you are paying by Gift Certificate or Gift Card, please read our policies below.
A $40.00 service charge applies to any and all cancellations. If canceled between 24 to 48 hours prior to your arrival date, there is a charge of 50% of your reservation total. With less than 24 hour notice, the charge is 75% of the total reservation. An uncanceled reservation will be charged 100% of the reservation total. In each instance, the Credit Card given to guarantee the reservation will be charged.
All cancellations must be done through e-mail. This is so we have a record of exactly when the cancellation was requested. E-mail info@StonewallJacksonInn.com with your name and the date of the reservation and let us know you are cancelling. Alternatively you may submit a cancellation request using our Contact Us form.

Gift Certificates & Gift Cards
A gift certificate issued by us, Stonewall Jackson Inn, is valid any time.
BedandBreakfast.com gift cards and BnBFinder.com gift certificates are valid Sunday-Thursday nights. You must let us know both the order number and gift card/certificate number when you make a reservation.
Only one gift card or certificate may be used per stay.
“Inn Rate” Option
We have special rates for business & other travelers who, for reasons of time or budget, are unable to enjoy a leisurely, professionally prepared delicious breakfast served on our beautiful outside shaded patio or in our sunny and cozy back porch Paradise Breakfast Cafe. A “no breakfast” option is available for them. If you have the time and a little more money, your partner will enjoy this time with you. It is a romantic and unforgettable “quality time” breakfast experience. As long as you have experienced the “Night’s Delight” the “Breakfast to Remember” is a “must” bargain!
The Inn Rate option is available for the Joshua Chamberlain room. Without our gourmet breakfast, the mid-week rates are single $89 and double $99; weekend rates are $99 & $109. Please visit the Chamberlain room page for more information. We do “Inn Rate” our other rooms in a like manner depending on the situation, season & occupancy level. Call to inquire: 800.445.5330. Ask for Wayne. There are times when the ‘no-breakfast’ rate is not available due to premium lodging weekends and seasonal demands for the B&B Rate. In this case, we will automatically book you at the B&B rate, with your right to withdraw your reservation request within three days at no charge.
Premium Weekend Guidelines & Information
Our Stonewall Family is growing at a torrid pace! So is JMU, EMU, Bridgewater College, and our community in general. Alas, there are not enough guest rooms to accommodate all of our “frequent stay” family members on special Premium Weekends like Homecoming, Family, Graduations, Holiday weekends, and the like. Of course, we want to take care of our most loyal family members, those that have repeatedly patronized the Inn. So, here are the guide lines on how we handle the situation.
As soon as JMU sets the dates for any Premium Weekend, we block all reservations for those dates. All reservation requests MUST be made by email and contain the following: Affirmation that these guidelines apply to your request, Your name, address, cell number; number of rooms/people and nights. Note that we have four rooms with capacities of up to four w/o a portable Futon, which can be put in most any room to boost the occupancy by one person. ($25 per night). Also note that, the published rates are posted for two people only, additional persons rates are $50 per person. For Premium Weekends, all rooms are sold assuming that all regular beds will be filled regardless. There is a $75 per night surcharge and a two night minimum stay for these weekends.
Upon receipt of your email request, it is printed and inserted into our Premium Weekend Notebook. The Notebook is divided into two separate sections, one for Guests who have stayed with us and one for those who have not. The first list comprises our “Stonewall Family Members” and the second contains those who are “Wannabe Stonewall Family Members. One will move to the Stonewall Family list upon staying with us on two different occasions. When that happens you are a Stonewall Family member for life! Our reservation system provides us with a complete record of your stays over the years. The record for stays is held by Mark and Laura Searle, a JMU graduate and alumni. As of January 1. 2010, they have logged 30 nights with us over a 10 year period, and still are frequent guests with us.
Five months prior to the Weekend, we generate this “Loyalty List” and rank it by using the number of nights stayed, most to least. I usually call to verify and validate the request as things may have changed if significant time has lapsed and corrections are made. Usually, 50% or so withdraw their request at this point. Then reservation invitations with detailed costs are emailed to the valid top ten asking for a 2 day response to accept by return email. They then have 7 days to respond by prepaying for the reservation with a personal check.
This payment is refundable ONLY on the following conditions: On your instruction, we will try to resell your paid RESERVATION by going back to our list. If we can resell , we will collect from them and refund you the entire amount you have paid, less the $40 cancellation fee. We must be the reseller to rule out scalping, thus reservations are NOT transferable.
I do have off-site and adjacent rooms and apartments that I sell to folks who have families or just want sleeping rooms. As well, I have “underground” knowledge of room availability, so if you would accept that lodging option, indicate that on your request. There is ALWAYS a room for you somewhere close by . At the very least, you can pitch a tent in our back yard, or bunk in our fine old barn. LOLOL. (It has been done)…
The bottom line is: The more frequently you stay, the higher your rank on the list. For those of you who are “Wannabes,” don’t lose heart, it costs nothing to email your request, and I will do everything I can to find you suitable lodging.
